KWASU TO PAY STAFF TWO MONTHS SALRY DEBT (LETTER FROM THE VC)

Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to inform you that we have accepted a credit facility of N376m from Fidelity Bank and will be paying April 2017 and May 2017 Salaries to KWASU Staff without delay.

Further more, we have kept up other options and are exploring avenues that will ensure for a long term solution in order to not be in a similar situation again in future. Our goal, as a University, is NEVER to have to go back to an inability to pay salary again because of low cash flow as has just happened.

Please keep faith with your University and continue to give it your support and loyalty, and participate, with ideas and actions, in expanding KWASU's IGR through your department and college.

I like to thank our amiable Governor, Alhaji (Dr.) AbdulFatah Ahmad, who personally intervened, and mobilized exceptional ideas and actions that led to this happy resolution. I also thank the Chief of Staff and other Government personnel for their support.

I must here appreciate all those in KWASU that went into action for all the days, weeks and months that we have negotiated and generated new ideas and pursued important leads towards ensuring that the terrible situation of non-salary payment never again recur: the Chairman and Members of the KWASU Think Tank, Bursar and the Staff of the Bursary Department, and all other KWASU staff that have supported with ideas, concerns, and calls to give words of support and encouragement to Management during this difficult time.

God Bless you all!

Abdul-Rasheed
